'Roller Palace Night' is Monday
Five things to know - a great way to start the day with a quick look at the events and happenings in the city.

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily source for community events, happenings in the city and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Monday, Sept. 23.
1. Cooler: The sun will be around on Monday, but don’t expect it to be all that warm. The first full day of fall will see temperatures get into the low 60s with a northwest wind up to 15 miles per hour.
2. Schools: If your child is looking to attend a private high school next year, you can gather a lot of information about many schools on Monday. There will be 95 boarding and day schools in New England represented at the Independent Secondary School Fair at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly Farms from 5:30-8 p.m.

3. Smart Credit: Students at Endicott College will get a special presentation Monday. They’ll hear about how to be smart when using credit. A representative from the state Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation will conduct a Project Credit Smarts presentation to a group of students at from 12–1 p.m. in the Lodge at the college. The program started across the state is 2008 and is designed to teach college students about the responsible management of credit and debt, including information about credit cards, student loans, credit reports and identity theft.
4. Golf: The 3rd Annual Eddie McLaughlin-Richie Weiner Golf Tournament will happen Monday just up the road at Wenham Country Club. The tournament benefits the Polish Club of Danvers’ Educational Scholarship Fund. It starts at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and is $100 per person, including 18 holes with cart plus a roast beef and chicken dinner afterward.

5. Roller Skating: Beverly Youth Football will host a fundraising “Roller Palace Night” on Monday. The fun runs from 5-7 p.m. at Roller Palace with an $8 charge for skating and skates, with no charge for parents that are not skating.
