When police got to the house in the wee hours Thursday, they found a Heartland Express truck out of Iowa in the street with significant damage and a house with a major hole in it where the truck slammed into it. The driver? Gone. Police said he walked or ran away before police arrived and is still at large.
"We were able to identify the operator as a male party with a license out of Georgia," Police Officer Mike Boccuzzi said in an email to Patch earlier this afternoon.

Police said the building was inspected for structural integrity by the Building Inspector, but no word on its current status. The property was just sold by a woman in June last year for $285,000, according to city records.
A family of four were home at the time of the crash and one of them told 7-News the impact felt like an "earthquake."
Although the driver ran away, a passenger of the tractor trailer stayed at the scene of the crash, according to NBC Boston and other tweets.
