Tree Rips Through Beverly House — And Traps Students In Elevator?
A tree on Hale Street took power lines down with it, causing an outage at Endicott College, where students were riding in elevators.
BEVERLY, MA — A power outage which occurred when a tree fell into a house caused students to be trapped in two elevators at Endicott College, all in a busy sequence of events Thursday afternoon.
The guilty tree took a dive in the house at 280 Hale St. this afternoon, the Beverly Fire Department said, taking power lines with it. That caused a power outage at Endicott College, which trapped students on campus in two separate elevators.
The Fire Department responded to the trapped students, rescuing them from one, while the students in the other elevator got themselves out.
