Trees Into Cars, Wires Down, Kids Dancing :Beverly Police Logs

Here's a look at the types of calls police received between Friday, March 2 and Sunday, March 4.

BEVERLY, MA — This weekend Beverly Police spent a lot of time responding to storm related issues, especially on Friday and Saturday. But there were a few other kinds of calls, too. This is a sample of the types of calls police responded to. Just note: Just because someone called to report something, doesn't mean that's the way it unfolded.

Friday, March 2

Wires down: 16 calls came in Friday to report wires down including on Dartmouth Street, Riverview Street, Jewett Road, County Way.

Trees down: If you though that was intense, 35 calls came in reporting trees fallen, including four into cars (one on Hale Street and one on Atlantic Ave one on Essex), and several onto wires.

Notice the order on this one: There was also a call about a gate that struck a car near the corner of Elliot and Mcpherson Drive.

Timber? Someone called to report a telephone pole on Standley Street was about to fall over. Four officers responded around 6:25 p.m.

Fire?: Someone called at 9:11 p.. to report a possible fire on Dodge Street. Two police units responded as did a fire unit and an ambulance.

What? A Patient at a nursing center on Brimbal Avenue reported she believed she was molested by an orderly.

Overdose: Someone on Chase Street reported a possible overdose.

Saturday, March 3

Storm damage: Six calls came in to report tree-related issues following the storm, including four that had fallen on the wires. Four separate calls came in reporting downed wires. Police also transported one person to the senior center to get warm.

Group: Someone called to report a group near Dane Street Beach around 2:15 a.m.

Suspicious: A Cabot Street resident called to report a woman yelling and banging around an apartment around 5 a.m.

Fight: Someone called to report a fight on Blaine Avenue at 11:45 p.m.

Sunday, March 4

Dancing: Police responded at 3:13 a.m. to a report of "kids dancing in the streets," on Rantoul Street.

That's weird: Someone called to report seeing two men with flashlights looking around on Thoreau Circle at 4:12 a.m.

Yikes: Police responded to a report of a dog on 128 South near Exit 19 at 11:38 a.m.

Found: Someone reported finding a stolen car on West Dane Street.

Vandals: Police responded to a report of vandalism to a car on Rantoul Street.
