While Facing A Murder Charge, Man Sentenced On Beverly Gun Charge

Tony Dyshaun Harris of Everett also admitted to destruction of property stemming from a 2016 arrest at a Beverly Housing Authority unit.

BEVERLY, MA -- An Everett man awaiting trial for the shooting death of a Somerville football player was sentenced to five years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to unrelated charges from a case out of Beverly. In a plea agreement, Tony Dyshaun Harris, 29, pleaded guilty to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, and malicious destruction of property valued at more than $250 in the Beverly case.

In September 2016 Harris showed up at a Beverly Housing Authority apartment where his child and ex-girlfriend lived. The two got in an argument that turned physical. When Harris left the next morning, the woman called police. While the original charges included domestic abuse, that charge was eventually dropped. When police caught up with Harris, he was carrying a gun.
