3 Fatal Motorcycle Crashes In 4 Days

As it gets warmer, more motorcycles hit the road. The past week has been a reminder of the importance of safety.

As the temperatures have ticked up over the past week, so have the number of motorcycle fatalities. An Easton man on Sunday night was the third deadly motorcycle crash involving a Massachusetts person in four days.

The first of the fatal crashes was Thursday on I-93 in New Hampshire. The southbound side of the highway was shut down when a 25-year-old Lowell man died following a crash in which police say he was traveling more than 120 miles per hour.

On Friday morning, a 31-year-old Swansea motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a furniture truck in Somerset, police said.

Sunday night in Quincy, a 26-year-old Easton man was speeding on Quincy Avenue when he lost control, police said.

There was another serious crash in which the victim survived. On Friday responders found a 62-year-old Wakefield man about 60 feet from his Harley Davidson on the side of I-95 in Georgetown.
