4 Buyers Real Estate Names New Broker/Owner

4 Buyers Real Estate, the longest continuously established exclusive buyer’s agency in Somerville, Cambridge and the surrounding areas, has named Dave Twombly as its new broker/owner. Twombly assumed the role on January 1, 2025 from 4 Buyers Founder Rona Fischman, who is retiring after more than 30 years in the real estate business.

Twombly began his real estate career with 4 Buyers in January 2011 and has since become the top producing agent in the company’s history. Prior to becoming a licensed real estate agent, he spent nearly 20 years honing his client service skills in various sales and account management roles.

“I am thrilled to take the reins of our unique brokerage,” says Twombly, who was trained by Fischman as an exclusive buyers agent. “I look forward to upholding the values that Rona instilled when she created the company, and continuing along the path of being true advocates and consultants for buyers in the competitive Greater Boston real estate market.”

“It was clear to me, after only a few years of working with him, that Dave was the perfect inheritor of my company when I retired,” says Fischman, who will now be known as 4 Buyers’ Broker Emerita. “Dave is a natural for the job. He understands people. He understands houses. He understands negotiations.”

Fischman, who is a founding member of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer’s Agents and a former director of the Massachusetts Association of Buyer’s Agents, founded 4 Buyers in 2008. As an exclusive buyer brokerage, 4 Buyers agents only represent buyers. Since no one at the company represents sellers, agents work together to get every client the house they want at the best possible price–there’s never a conflict of interest.

“I'm eager to continue building 4 Buyers’ presence throughout the region, and providing exceptional service and guidance to homebuyers of all kinds,” adds Twombly.

A graduate of Brandeis University, he lives in North Cambridge with his wife, two daughters and two cats.
