BOSTON, MA — A new fast-casual sushi restaurant is set to open in Boston later this summer.
Happy Rice will open its first location at 53 Boston Wharf Road in the city's Seaport neighborhood. The eatery will offer classic and deluxe rolls, nigiri, sashimi, shareable sides and curated "Benefit Boxes" developed with input from nutritionists.
The restaurant was inspired by co-founder Phil Turley's search for a way to make sushi a fresh, reliable and accessible everyday meal. The menu will emphasize high-quality seafood, plant-based options, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and balanced portions.
Happy Rice said its kitchen will be free of gluten, seed oils and refined sugar. The restaurant is also partnering with Boston-based Wulf's Fish for seafood sourcing.
Signature menu items include the Salmon on Salmon deluxe roll and the Plant Protein deluxe roll. Benefit Boxes will be available in two sizes, featuring combinations of sushi rolls with nigiri or sashimi. Other offerings include housemade kimchi, a pickle medley and wellness beverages such as canned teas and matcha.
The restaurant will also feature a warm, modern design with an open kitchen where customers can watch food being prepared.
Happy Rice's culinary program is led by Brand Chef Kelsey Urbanczyk.

"The Seaport is a place that embraces new ideas and forward-thinking concepts, making it the perfect home for reimagining what everyday sushi can be."
