4 Hospitalized After School Bus Rollover Crash In Boston

The incident took place in the Mattapan neighborhood.

BOSTON, MA — Four adults were taken to the hospital after a school bus rolled over in Mattapan Thursday afternoon, according to the Boston Police Department.

Police and emergency crews responded to the area of 1000 Harvard St. at 1:08 p.m. for a reported motor vehicle crash involving the bus. Boston police told Patch the bus was occupied by four adults, all of whom suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Boston EMS transported all four occupants to local hospitals.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Harvard Street and Cummins Highway, where the bus overturned onto its side. The bus could be seen resting on its passenger side near a wooded area as firefighters and other first responders worked around the vehicle.

Authorities have not said what caused the bus to overturn or whether another vehicle was involved. It was not immediately clear where the bus was traveling to or from, and officials had not released additional information about the occupants.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
