Boston Police Investigating Deadly Shooting Near Roxbury-Dorchester Line
Authorities say the daytime attack was not random.
BOSTON, MA — One person has died in the aftermath of a shooting that took place on the border of the Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods Wednesday morning, according to the Boston Police Department.
Police responded to the scene at 564 Blue Hill Avenue in Boston Police District B-2 shortly after 10 a.m. The man who was shot was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital. He was reportedly outside the building fixing a moped when being shot. Police Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said that authorities do not believe the crime was random.
“When it comes to retaliatory violence, we look to try to get that shooter off the street as quickly as we can,” McLaughlin said in a press conference. “We try to minimize the opportunity for some type of retaliation against or by the same group of people.”

No arrests have been made public as the investigation continues.
