BOSTON, MA — Two men were arrested after police say they were involved in an armed robbery in Roxbury last month that left two people hospitalized, according to the Boston Police Department.
Teudi Dume, 19, of Roxbury, surrendered to police at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Brian Quinonez, 18, of Dorchester, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the area of 81 McLellan Street in Dorchester.
Police said officers on patrol in the area of 668 Dudley Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 12 were approached by two victims who reported they had been robbed. According to investigators, a group of suspects armed with firearms physically assaulted the victims before stealing their moped, jewelry, clothing, and cellphones. Boston EMS transported both victims to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives obtained warrants for Dume and Quinonez through Roxbury District Court. Dume was wanted on charges of armed robbery, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Quinonez was wanted on charges of armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery.
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Quinonez at approximately 6 a.m. Aug. 5 in the area of 81 McLellan Street. That same day, officers and detectives from the Roxbury and Mattapan police districts executed a search warrant in the area and recovered a high-capacity magazine loaded with 32 rounds of ammunition. The Boston Police Department's Auto Theft Unit also seized three dirt bikes and two motorcycles from the property.
Dume later surrendered to officers in Roxbury. Both men have been arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
