1. 10 Cruise Workers Removed From Boston Ship As Part Of Federal Operation (patch.com) — Boston's cruise terminal has become a key focus of a federal crackdown on cruise ship workers tied to child sexual abuse and exploitation material, with 10 more crewmembers removed from the Norwegian Escape on Aug. 31. Customs and Border Protection says 24 workers have now been removed from multiple ships in Boston in just over two weeks under Operation Tidal Wave, and officials warn similar enforcement will continue at the port.

Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn calls attack on elderly Chinese woman a hate crime 'based on racism' (bostonherald.com) — A Boston city councilor is urging police to treat the recent assault on an elderly Chinese woman in the South End as a hate crime, saying the attack was racially motivated. The victim, in her late 80s, was injured after being shoved to the ground, and a suspect has been arrested as officials call for stronger accountability around hate-motivated violence in the city.
   

3. How Therapy Dogs and Volunteering Help College Students Manage Stress (wcvb.com) — Boston-area college students are increasingly turning to therapy dogs and animal volunteering to ease stress, including programs at Wheaton College and the MSPCA in Boston. At the MSPCA, more than 200 volunteers support animals and each other, while research suggests this kind of hands-on service can lower cortisol levels and boost emotional well-being.
   

4. Boston-area Dunkin' franchises ordered to repay 100 workers over violations (nbcboston.com) — Dunkin' franchises in the Greater Boston area must repay 100 workers after state investigators found wage theft and labor law violations, leading to more than $1 million in penalties. If you work in or around Boston and suspect similar problems with late pay or misclassification, the attorney general's office is urging you to file a complaint with its Fair Labor Division.
