Boston Man With 2 Felony Warrants Arrested After Firearm Incident

A pat-down resulted in the arrest of someone with multiple warrants.

BOSTON, MA — A man is facing multiple firearm charges after Boston Police recovered a loaded ghost gun recently in the Roxbury neighborhood, according to the department.

Pascual Diaz-Baez, 32, of Dorchester, was arrested at approximately 11:45 p.m. near 580 Blue Hill Ave. after officers responded to a report of a person with a gun. Police were told a man wearing a red cap, black coat, and blue jeans was armed with a firearm and pointing it at people in the area.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly saw Diaz-Baez, who matched the description provided by dispatch. Police said he was holding his right hand inside his coat pocket and shielding the right side of his body.

Officers conducted a pat-down frisk and reportedly felt a heavy metal object inside Diaz-Baez's right coat pocket. Police recovered a firearm and took him into custody. A subsequent check determined Diaz-Baez did not have a license to carry, according to police.

The firearm was determined to be a green and black Polymer80 PF940C ghost gun loaded with five rounds of 9mm ammunition, including one in the chamber.

Police also determined Diaz-Baez had two outstanding felony warrants issued out of Roxbury District Court. One warrant included charges of distribution of Class A and Class B substances, while the second was for receiving stolen property valued at more than $1,200.

Diaz-Baez is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
