BOSTON, MA — A man is facing multiple charges in connection with a stabbing that left a man seriously injured in Roxbury last month, according to the Boston Police Department.
Meshach Dowman, 31, of Revere, was arrested following an investigation into the Sept. 29 stabbing near Warren and Dale streets. Officers initially responded at approximately 7:12 p.m. to the area of 301 Warren St. for a report of a person stabbed.
Responding officers spoke with witnesses and followed a trail of evidence to a nearby home on Kensington Park, where they found a 37-year-old man suffering from a serious laceration to his face. The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that the victim and suspect had allegedly been involved in a verbal argument inside a nearby business before the suspect followed the victim outside and attacked him with a knife near Warren and Dale streets.
Detectives photographed the scene, collected evidence along the blood trail, and reviewed surveillance footage from the business and surrounding area in an effort to track the suspect's movements after the stabbing.
The following day, investigators located what appeared to be the knife used in the attack on a nearby rooftop. The weapon was recovered with assistance from the Boston Fire Department.
Detectives subsequently identified Dowman as the suspect and took him into custody.
Dowman is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, mayhem, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
