BOSTON, MA — For the eighth year in a row, Boston Children's Hospital is seeking virtual Valentine's Day cards to brighten the holiday for hospitalized children who can't attend school parties or participate in festivities with their friends, the hospital announced through a news release.

"To help lift the spirits of children spending Valentine’s Day in the hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital is inviting the public to send patients a free, virtual valentine that will be displayed on screens in the hospital for all children and families to enjoy," Boston Children's Hospital wrote in the release.

The hospital began the annual campaign in 2016 and receives thousands of virtual Valentines each year, "with people writing in from as far as Taiwan and Chile," according to Boston Children's. The hospital has a goal of receiving 20,000 messages this year.
