Boston Fireworks Fourth Of July 2017: How To Watch And More
The Boston Pops, a dazzling fireworks display, and more. Here's everything you need to know.

BOSTON, MA — Does anything scream 'Independence Day' more than a dazzling display of fireworks illuminating the Boston sky as Keith Lockhart leads the Boston Pops to a rousing crescendo? Whether you plan to watch on TV on at the Esplanade itself, we've got you covered. (You can see all the road closures, prohibited items, and more below.)
This year's festivities will be split between July 3 (dress rehearsal concert) and July 4, with the 21-minute fireworks display taking place at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The gates open at 9 a.m. both days. You can watch the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Tuesday night on WBZ-TV from 8-9 p.m. The National broadcast will be on Bloomberg TV.
The show features musical guests Andy Grammar, Melissa Etheridge, and Leslie Odom Jr. from the musical Hamilton. The highlight is expected to be when the Pops play Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture,' which will be accompanied by church bells and cannon fire.
