Boston Globe Discloses Sex Assault Allegations Vs. Ex-Reporter
The Globe disclosed the allegations in a story about sex assault allegations in the Boston media.

BOSTON, MA — The Boston Globe disclosed sexual assault allegations against one of its reporters who has since been let go in a report about such allegations in the Boston media.
The Globe made the decision not to name the subject of the allegations, saying that given the circumstances they likely wouldn't have identified him if he had worked at another organization. That decision has been met with controversy on social media.
"The Globe chose not to identify the employee in this story because his alleged conduct did not involve physical contact, threats, or persistent harassment, and editors determined it is highly unlikely the newspaper would have identified the accused, or written about his conduct, if this situation had arisen at another private company," the story reads.

The reporter allegedly propositioned a young female Globe reporter to have sex with his wife, and he later resigned after accusations from outside the company surfaced.
The Globe's report on the #MeToo culture sweeping the nation and knocking down many long-powerful men in entertainment and media came Friday, hours before Tom Ashbrook, WBUR radio host of the nationally syndicated "On Point," was put on leave for allegations made against him. WBUR did not reveal the nature of the allegations.
