Vigil for murder victim "Su" Taraskiewicz

Vigil for murder victim "Su" Taraskiewicz

Event Details

Constitution Beach, 799 Bennington St, Boston, MA, 02128

Please join us for a public vigil honoring Susan “Su” Taraskiewicz, the young woman known to many as “the girl on the billboard,” on Saturday, September 12, at noon at Constitution Beach in East Boston.

This weekend marks 34 years since Su was murdered. Her mother, Marlene, has spent more than three decades praying for answers and justice. We are asking the community to stand beside her and show that Su has not been forgotten.

The vigil will include remarks, a prayer, 34 seconds of silence and the placing of 34 flowers—one for every year Su’s family has waited for answers. Members of Su’s family, representatives from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and current and retired members of law enforcement are expected to attend.

There are important developments and renewed attention surrounding Su’s case. A strong community presence will send a clear message: Su’s life still matters, her family still deserves answers, and the public has not stopped caring.

We know everyone is busy, but one moment out of your day can make a meaningful difference to a grieving mother who has carried this loss for 34 years.

The vigil is free and open to everyone. Please come, bring a flower if you wish, and help us keep Su’s memory—and the call for justice—alive.
