City Of Boston: City Of Boston Relaunches Sales For Taxi Coupon Program

The City of Boston officially relaunched the Coupon sales were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic, as directed by guidance from the Boston Public Health Commission. Throughout the pandemic, the Age Strong Commission worked on a plan to ensure the coupon sales were ready to be relaunched when it was safe. “We’re glad to have the Taxi Coupon Program sales up and running again,” said Commissioner Shea. “We will be selling coupons by appointment at City Hall and at some locations across the city with COVID safety measures, and we will work with partners who will also be able to sell coupons. We look forward to helping make transportation more affordable for older Bostonians and people with disabilities.”

Eligible Boston residents can make an appointment online by using the appointment booking tool or by calling the Age Strong Commission at 617-635-4366. Residents can also find the sites across the city on the Taxi Coupon public schedule.  While sites to purchase are limited now, more sites will be added over time.

Eligible Boston residents can make an appointment online by using The Age Strong Commission also encourages Boston's senior residents who need support with transportation to reach out to the City of Boston Age Strong Shuttle. The Age Strong Shuttle provides Boston residents age 60 and older with free transportation within the City of Boston to non-emergency medical appointments and grocery shopping, with advance notice. The Age Strong Shuttle service also has wheelchair-accessible shuttles. Older Bostonians can call 617-635-3000 to set up a ride. The Age Strong Commission works towards making Boston a city that fully embraces aging.
