Dorchester Teen Possessed Loaded Glock During Armed Robbery: Cops

A 16-year-old faces numerous felony charges after an armed robbery May 1 in Boston involving the sale of a scooter.

BOSTON, MA — A Dorchester teen was arrested on gun charges Friday, accused of an armed robbery the week before on Brookford Street.

Boston police arrested the 16-year-old on delinquent to wit: assault and battery to wit firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and armed robbery charge after a seven-day investigation into an armed robbery and assault case May 1.

Around 6 p.m., officers were sent to a report of a robbery in the area of Brookford and Judson streets. A victim reported being robbed and beaten with a firearm.

"On arrival, officers observed the victim inside of a motor vehicle suffering injuries to his face," police said. "The victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment."

During the investigation, a friend of the victim told police they had been messaging with someone on a mobile app about selling a scooter. Later, the victim told police that when they arrived on Brookford Street to perform the sale, two men approached the vehicle, briefly spoke, and then, the men pulled out firearms and demanded the property, according to a report.

"The suspects were able to successfully obtain the victims possessions but were unable to get their cell phones," police said. "The suspects again demanded the cell phones from the victim and his friend, and when they refused, the suspects threatened to shoot them before striking the victim multiple times with a firearm."

Around 10:15 a.m. Friday, the city's Youth Violence Strike Force, armed with a search warrant, arrested the teen, and search their home. During the search, police said they recovered a loaded Glock 9 mm with an altered serial number as well as the scooter.
