One of two devices delivered to Northeastern Tuesday night exploded, according to authorities.

BOSTON, MA — One person was injured when a device exploded Tuesday night at a Northeastern University academic building. The incident had largely shut down the campus off Huntington Avenue, with at least one building evacuated and classes canceled for the night.
The detonation happened near 7 p.m. at Holmes Hall, a building along Leon Street that houses writing and journalism programs. The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were reportedly not serious.
"Multiple #BEMS units responded to Leon St. in Boston for a reported explosion. One patient treated and transported by BLS ambulance to an area hospital," Boston EMS tweeted near 7 p.m.

A second device was also found on campus Tuesday, the university told WCVB. That device was reportedly found near the Museum of Fine Arts, which is located across Huntington Avenue from the campus.
The Boston police bomb squad was on scene investigating the incident. Northeastern University campus police asked students and the public to avoid the Holmes Hall area. Tuesday evening classes at six other academic buildings near Holmes Hall were canceled, according to the university.
