BOSTON, MA — Boston police are investigating a fatal Wednesday night shooting at a Dorchester barbershop — the city's fourth fatal shooting since Saturday.

The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Wednesday at Celebrity Cuts Barbershop, 145 Washington St. Police found Herman Maxwell Hilton, 43, of Roxbury, inside the business, where he died.

Boston police did not immediately announce any arrests.

Mayor Michelle Wu visited the scene of the shooting, calling the incident "devastating" since a barbershop is typically a community gathering space. Wu on Tuesday met with community and school leaders to discuss recent gun violence, and different approaches to curbing it — especially among young people.

Wednesday's violence follows three separate shooting incidents over the weekend, where a woman and two men died. Those shootings all took place in Dorchester and Mattapan.
