Five Northeastern Students in Brussels Confirmed Safe

The university confirmed the students are safe after terrorist attacks rocked the Belgium capital Tuesday morning.

BOSTON, MA - Northeastern University announced five of its students overseas in Brussels are safe after terrorist attacks killed dozens in the Belgium capital Tuesday morning.

The university posted the following on Facebook:

Northeastern University has confirmed that all five students currently in Brussels, Belgium, are safe and well. Upon receiving reports of multiple explosions in Brussels this morning, university officials made direct contact with students who are currently in that city for co-op, study abroad, or personal travel.

The university is monitoring the situation closely in order to provide ongoing assistance and support to members of the Northeastern community currently in that region. For further updates, please follow Northeastern on Twitter (@Northeastern) and on Facebook.

Two Northeastern students were killed overseas two weeks ago in an automobile accident.
