Four Guns Recovered In Three Incidents By Boston Police
Three people were also taken into custody.
BOSTON, MA — Four guns from three incidents were recovered by Boston police, authorities confirmed. The Boston Police Department announced the recoveries Tuesday. The incidents also led to the arrest of three people.
"Taking guns off the street remains one of my highest priorities. Every gun that my officers recover is one less gun that can be used to hurt or kill someone. Gun violence has no place in our city, and everyone needs to get involved to make Boston safe. It's troubling when I see a 20-year-old, who was just recently released on gun related charges back out there and armed with yet another gun," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said.
The first incident took place at 2:30 p.m. on Dix Street in Dorchester. While police were executing a search warrant, officers recovered a loaded Taurus 740 Slim .40 caliber firearm, 18 rounds of ammunition, approximately 100 grams of heroin, and approximately 15 grams of cocaine, police said. Kenny Duong, 21, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Criminal charges of trafficking Class A drugs, possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs, and possession of Class B and E drugs were filed against 24-year-old Lisa Nguyen of Dorchester.
