Green Line MBTA Service Back After Arlington Station Issue

Green Line service was suspended because of smoke on tracks at Arlington Station. It took about four hours before service resumed.

BOSTON, MA — Green Line MBTA service is back on after about three hours of suspension Sunday.

About 4 p.m. the fire department was called to the Arlington station for a report of smoke. It turned out to be a feeder cable malfunction above the westbound tracks at the Arlington Station, according to reports.

MBTA officials said there was no fire and there were no injuries. But while repairs were being made, service from Park to Heath and to Kenmore was replaced by shuttles.
