Hazardous Weather Outlook: Major Storms, Torrential Downpours
Volatile weather is expected tonight. The likelihood of tornadoes is minor, but powerful thunderstorms are possible.

Tuesday could bring some of the most volatile weather of the summer to Massachusetts. The National Weather Service earlier today issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Eastern, Northeastern, and Southeastern Massachusetts.
The outlook warns of possible thunderstorms into the evening, some of which "may be strong to severe with the threats of gusty to damaging winds...frequent lightning...and heavy rain." The NWS is also warning of the potential for localized flooding.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management System says to expect scattered showers and thunderstorms into the evening. The storms will include strong gusts and torrential downpours, and conditions will even make a brief tornado possible. Western Mass. is in the worst immediate position, but the Greater Boston area could also see very turbulent weather.
