Hyde Park’s Tristyn Sepersky to Star in Reefer Madness: The Musical!

Hyde Park, MA — Tristyn Sepersky of Hyde Park is stepping back into the Moonstruck Theater Company spotlight this August as Mae Coleman in Reefer Madness, a sharp, satirical musical running August 14–23 at The Rockwell in Somerville. The production marks Moonstruck’s return to the stage after an eight-year hiatus—and for Sepersky, it’s a homecoming.

A longtime Moonstruck performer and graduate of Boston Conservatory, Sepersky has previously appeared in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, West Side Story, and the company’s 2017 production of Songs for a New World, which was presented at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival. Known for her rich vocals and grounded performances, she brings a fierce emotional complexity to Mae Coleman—a woman caught between regret and resilience as she watches the world around her spiral out of control.

Reefer Madness is a musical parody of the 1936 propaganda film that warned American parents about the new street drug called 'marijuana'. With big dance numbers, high-stakes melodrama, and no shortage of camp, the show skewers moral panics with a wink and a whole lot of jazz hands.

Moonstruck Theater Company, founded in 2006, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to bold, hands-on theatre and creating space for artists of all backgrounds to grow, play, and collaborate. After producing more than 20 mainstage shows, the company went on hiatus in 2017. Now, it returns with Reefer Madness, embracing the kind of boundary-pushing storytelling that made it a community favorite.
