BOSTON — Tom Brady grew up idolizing Joe Montana. Now as Brady is set to experience free agency for the first time in his Hall of Fame career, he’s getting some advice from the quarterbacking icon.

Montana , who won four Super Bowls with San Francisco, sent the younger man a clear message: Don’t leave the Patriots.

“It’s not easy to go to another team and get accepted, no matter how much success you’ve had and how many years you’ve played,” Montana told NFL Network’s Michael Silver in an interview that will air on Super Bowl Sunday. “Don’t [leave] — if you don’t have to.”
