Katzman Family Center for Living Receives Deficiency-Free Survey for Second Year

Conducted by Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the survey means that the skilled nursing residence adheres to the highest standards

The Katzman Family Center for Living, operated by Chelsea Jewish Lifecareand an affiliate of Legacy Lifecare, announced that it recently achieved a deficiency-free survey for the second consecutive year from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

A deficiency-free survey is one of the highest distinctions a skilled nursing residence can achieve. It indicates that the organization met all state standards for quality of care, safety, and regulatory compliance, with no violations or deficiencies identified during the inspection process.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized as a five-star quality and deficiency-free rated center for the second year in a row,” said Ginny Person, LHHA at Katzman Family Center for Living. “This recognition reflects the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of our exceptional staff. Every day, they demonstrate an unwavering commitment to delivering the highest level of care to our residents.”

Staff, residents, families and friends celebrated this achievement with a festive party. Amidst a congratulatory banner, specially made T-shirts, delicious food and lots of laughter, attendees paid tribute to this significant accomplishment.

Person noted that survey results are also an important resource for prospective residents and their families. “Receiving a deficiency-free survey reassures families that they can expect the highest standards of care,” Person said. “For individuals considering short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or memory support, it’s an important indicator of quality and accountability.”
