Longtime Meteorologist To Leave MA TV News Station
The station announced Wednesday that its chief meteorologist of nearly 30 years will be leaving before the end of the month.
BOSTON, MA — Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz at Boston 25 News announced he will be stepping down from his role after nearly 30 years.
Lemanowicz started at the station in 1996 and since then has covered major storms, including tornadoes in 2011, the snowstorms of 2015, and the Leominster flooding, according to Boston 25 News.
“It’s rare to see someone dedicate 30 years to one newsroom, and Kevin did so with professionalism, passion, and an unwavering commitment to our viewers," Boston 25 News Director Scott Isaacs said.

He will be leaving the station Feb. 26.

Lemanowicz is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist recognized by the American Meteorological Society. He is also a Silver Circle Honoree, a recognition from the Boston/New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences honoring veteran TV professionals, according to his bio.
Before he came to Boston 25, he was chief meteorologist at WTIC in Hartford. Lemanowicz graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
Lemanowicz's work in the community includes visiting hundreds of schools to give students and teachers a better understanding of how the weather works and hosting charity events for nonprofit organizations, according to his bio.
