MA Man Killed By Bus At Logan Airport Identified

A man struck and killed by a coach bus at Logan on Monday night has been identified.

BOSTON, MA — A man was killed in a crash at Terminal B at Logan International Airport around 5 p.m. Monday, according to a Massachusetts State Police tweet. Police are investigating the accident.

Vishwachand Kolla, 47, of Lexington, died in the wreck, WCVB-5 reported. Kolla was parked curbside at the arrivals level when the accident occurred.

A preliminary police investigation found that Kolla, who was picking up a friend from the airport, was standing on the driver's side of his Acura SUV when he was hit by a coach bus, according to WCVB-5. The bus dragged him along the driver's side of his vehicle.

An off-duty nurse came to help Kolla, but he died at the scene of the crash, CBS Boston reported. The bus riders were rushed off the bus, and Terminal B bus service was canceled for the rest of the night.

The bus driver, a 54-year-old woman, declined medical treatment and was interviewed by state police, NBC Boston reported. The bus is owned by Dartmouth Transportation company, which is based in Concord, New Hampshire.

The scene of the accident was cleared and normal traffic resumed around 8 p.m. Monday, according to state police.
