MA Weather Forecast: Rain Washing Out Spring Saturday
Dozens of outdoor events are going to have to postpone, move indoors, or just get wet.

Dozens of outdoor events across Massachusetts towns are being threatened by a Saturday storm that could wash out those communities eager to enjoy spring weather. The good news is that Saturday will be taking the brunt of the rain initially scheduled for Mother's Day, so you might be able to celebrate mom with a BBQ after all.
Saturday's rain is expected begin in the late morning and finish in the early evening. It won't be a pleasant summer-like rain; temperatures are expected to sit mid to high 40s. Sunday is expected to be sunny with temperatures in the mid 50s. Temperatures shoot back up to the 70s for Monday and Tuesday, but then it's a lot of rain.
"Where you are in the Northeast will determine the flavor of weather you get over Mother’s Day weekend," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Bill Deger.

Whether you're going to the Brimfield Antique Show (yes, that's this weekend!) or one the countless outdoor festivals and events, you should double-check to make sure they are still on - and if they are, whether you should bring an umbrella. Many events, such as the unique Somerville PorchFest, have already been postponed.
The wet weather is coming after some dry weather Friday. There is an elevated fire risk spanning Massachusetts, meaning fire officials consider conditions favorable for the rapid spread of flames.
