Man Arrested In Fatal Brighton Hit-And-Run
Police said a 23-year-old man was behind the wheel of a car that struck and killed an 80-year-old man.

BOSTON, MA — A 23-year-old Brighton man will be charged in the hit-and-run death of an 80-year-old man after police arrested the suspect Wednesday night. Phocian Fitts, 23, of Brighton was behind the wheel when his car struck the older man around 12:50 p.m. on Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton, police said.
Witnesses gave police a description of the car suspected in the incident and a license plate. Police put out an alert and later found that car in the area. The driver of that car was being questioned earlier Wednesday, according to a Boston Police spokeswoman. But was released because there were not enough charges to hold him.
