MBTA Commuter Rail Delays Plague Nearly Entire Network
Only two commuter rail lines operated on schedule thanks to what Keolis called an Amtrak "signal issue."

All but two MBTA commuter rail lines experienced delays Tuesday morning thanks to what operator Keolis called an Amtrak "signal issue." Delays of up to 30 minutes were reported for the Fairmount, Fitchburg, Framingham/Worcester, Franklin, Greenbush, Kingston/Plymouth, Middleborough/Lakeville, Needham and Providence/Stoughton lines at about 6 a.m.
The Newburyport/Rockport line was seeing expected delays due to work on the Gloucester drawbridge. The Haverhill and Lowell lines were the only ones without any delays as of 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The delays affected trains that start or end at South Station, The Boston Globe reported. That accounts for nine of the lines facing delays.
