During the "mouse-a-palooza" adoptathon, the MSPCA will be providing starter kits—including a tank, bedding, bottles, bowls, and huts—to the first 75 adopters who take home a mouse or pair of mice.

"So, please spread the word, tell your friends, and come adopt a mouse this weekend," the MSPCA wrote.

Mice are "curious and charming animals" that are active throughout the day and tend to be social with each other, according to the Animal Humane Society. They typically live one to three years.

Female mice of all ages can happily live together, and males can be kept together if introduced to each other at a young age and given enough space, the Animal Humane Society said.

However, avoid housing together males who were introduced to each other as adults, and don't house males and females together to avoid breeding!
