NY Man Arrested For Assaulting Minor In Boston

BOSTON, MA — A New York man was arrested on charges related to traveling to Massachusetts to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

Andre Jamal Bennett, 33, of Queens, was apprehended in the Eastern District of New York on Tuesday and has been charged with interstate travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor. According to authorities, Bennett created multiple social media accounts in September 2025 under the fictitious name “Chris” and posed as a 16-year-old boy to contact the girl. Bennett is employed by Delta Air Lines as a ground controller at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

In November 2025, Bennett allegedly took a flight from New York City to Boston. After landing, Bennett contacted the girl, told her that he was in the area, and coerced her into meeting him in person. The girl still believed Bennett was the 16-year-old boy he had portrayed himself as online.

Bennett reportedly wore a hooded sweatshirt that concealed his face when the two met before bringing the girl to a hotel, where he allegedly raped her and recorded the sexual assault on his phone.

Bennett allegedly continued to contact the girl through social media over the course of several months and attempted to entice her into meeting him again, including by offering to pay her. The girl refused.

The charge of interstate travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor provides for a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release as well as a fine of up to $250,000. Bennett remains detained pending a future hearing.

The investigation was conducted in part by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Police Department and the FBI’s New York Field Office as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse.
