Orange, Green Line Service Suspension To Include 'Slow Zone' Work
This weekend, Orange Line service will be suspended and a portion of the Green Line will be replaced by shuttle buses.
BOSTON, MA — The T will disrupt service along the Green and Orange lines this weekend, with some work related to slow zones that were not completely fixed during the month-long Orange Line shut down last year.
The disruptions will be in place on Saturday and Sunday. The Orange Line won't be available between the Ruggles and North Station stops. A shuttle will connect riders to Mass Ave and Back Bay, where riders can pick up the Green Line for parallel service.
But the Green Line will also have a disruption, with trains skipping stops between North Station and Government Center. At that point, the shuttle will also take Orange Line riders to Oak Grove in Malden.

According to the T, the disruptions are due to construction activities around the Government Center area, where there's an ongoing redevelopment project.
But the Boston Globe reported Wednesday that the T will also perform track work along the Orange Line related to several "slow zones" along the route. Those zones were supposed to have been fixed during the shut-down in September, but at least three zones remain between Back Bay and Tufts, Stony Brook and Jackson Square and Assembly to Wellington.
