The manager said Taylor tested positive when he arrived in Boston for his screening this week and has been isolating at a nearby hotel.

Hernandez tested positive in his native Venezuela and has remained in his home country.

Roenicke told the media that he believes Taylor is further along in his recovery. He said it is too soon to determine whether the positive tests will effect whether the Hernandez or Taylor will be available for opening day on July 23 or July 24.

Gov. Charlie Baker announced on Thursday that the state moving into phase 3 of reopening as of Monday means that professional sports games will be able to place without fans.
