Shooting In Roxbury Leads Police To 42 Pounds Of Marijuana

Boston detectives seized marijuana, cocaine, pills, and guns from a Blue Hill Avenue apartment on Friday.

BOSTON, MA — A Thursday shooting in Roxbury led to a raid on a Blue Hill Avenue apartment on Friday, where detectives seized a large amount of drugs and weapons, according to Boston police.

Just before 6 p.m. Thursday, Boston police responded to a home near Blue Hill Avenue and Brookford Street to investigate gunfire. At the scene, they encountered a man coming out of an apartment building with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

After getting the man medical treatment, police went inside an apartment in the building and saw suspicious items lying around, including cash, a gun and vacuum-seal bags. Police cordoned off the apartment until detectives could get a warrant.

When detectives returned Friday night, they seized two handguns, cash, prescription pills including oxycodone, cocaine, and 42 pounds of marijuana.

Police are pursuing drug and weapons charges against one person.
