Stephi's In Southie Is Closed
It was on Dorchester Ave in Southie, just a hop skip and a jump from the T. Now? No more.

BOSTON, MA— It only lasted five years in South Boston. But Sunday, Stephi's, the neighborhood style restaurant known for its comfort food closed its doors for the final time in South Boston.
"We loved being a part of Southie and cherish the relationships we built here. While it is always an emotional moment leaving a neighborhood, the changes that are coming to the group are positive and needed."
Stephanie’s Restaurant Group which merged recently with Met Restaurant group to form Sidell Hospitality. That group owned the award winning restaurants in greater Boston: Stephanie’s on Newbury in Back Bay, the neighborhood eatery Stephi’s on Tremont Street in the South End, and then Stephi’s in Southie along with Stephanie’s at Logan Airport.

The local chain was founded by Stephanie Sokolove, a Newton native, and known for classic comfort dishes like Macaroni and Cheese, the oversized Stephi Burger, Meatloaf and Chunky Chicken Salad.
Stephanie’s on Newbury Street has been around for nearly a quarter century.

The news first came out on Instagram. A couple fans posted #RIP and then this afternoon Stephi's posted a goodbye note.
Thank you to all our regulars, friends and neighbors for having so much fun with us over the past five years. We loved being a part of Southie and cherish the relationships we built here. While it is always an emotional moment leaving a neighborhood, the changes that are coming to the group are positive and needed.
