Teen Girl Secretly Recorded In Bathroom On Boston Flight, Lawsuit Says

BOSTON, MA —The parents of a North Carolina teenager are suing American Airlines after accusing a flight attendant of taping a phone to the toilet and filming their daughter using the restroom during a September flight from Charlotte to Boston, The Associated Press reported Friday.

The girl said that during the Sept. 2 flight, she was waiting to use the bathroom in the economy section — where she was sitting with her family — when the flight attendant encouraged her to use the first-class bathroom instead, the lawsuit said, according to the outlet.

Before the girl entered the bathroom, the flight attendant went in himself and said he needed to wash his hands, the lawsuit said.

About a minute later, the girl said she was in the bathroom when she noticed an iPhone taped to the toilet with its camera flash on, according to the lawsuit.

The family said in the lawsuit they were told the man couldn't be arrested because authorities did not find any incriminating photos or videos when they checked his phone, The Associated Press reported.

In a statement shared with The Associated Press, American Airlines said that the flight attendant was "withheld from service" immediately after the alleged incident and has not returned to work.
