Toys R Us Returns To MA In New, Smaller Form
The iconic toy store is now open at over a dozen locations across the state thanks to a partnership with a big department store chain.

BOSTON, MA — Geoffrey the Giraffe is back in Massachusetts.
The iconic Toys R Us brand officially relaunched this week with hundreds of small toy shops in Macy's department stores across the U.S. — including over a dozen in Massachusetts.
The Toys R Us return comes after a tumultuous few years for the toy chain. The company declared bankruptcy in 2017 and 2018 and then closed all its stores across the world. New York-based WHP Global purchased a controlling stake in the brand in 2021 with plans to bring it back.

In July, Toys R Us announced that it would begin opening smaller shops in Macy's, with a total of 451 planned nationwide. The largest shops will be around 10,000 square-feet and located in bigger Macy's stores in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The smaller Toys R Us stores are open now at 14 Macy's stores from Holyoke to Braintree. Here's where you can find them:

The Macy's-Toys R Us partnership is being launched with a week of events at each store highlighting different famous toy brands like Pokémon, Barbie and Play-Doh.
