Wet Morning Commute, Potential Thunderstorms

Your sleep may have been interrupted by bouts of thunder, and your morning commute should be a wet one.

Before you go to work, make sure you've got your umbrella. No matter where you are in Massachusetts, you're likely going to need it.

The morning commute will be a wet one all across the state. The National Weather Service is more optimistic than Weather.com of dodging thunderstorms, but the NWS says the real threat is heavy rain.

According to Weather.com, isolated and scattered thunderstorms were expected to begin between 2 and 3 a.m. from Worcester to Boston. The storms had a more than 50 percent chance to last through to the evening. The National Weather Service says there may be a handful of isolated thunderstorms, but is also calling for more than an inch of rain.

The storms will start later and rain should accumulate less South of Boston and the Cape and Islands. The western and central parts of the state are still most likely to get the most rain.
