Zika Forces Boston Schools to Cancel Trips

Boston schools are canceling trips to areas affected by the Zika virus, a Boston Public Schools statement said.

No specific trips were mentioned, but a statement said that “BPS global trips” were being planned to affected areas.

Zika’s first confirmed case in Massachusetts came last week, and the World Health Organization has declared the outbreak a global health emergency. The first case of the virus being transmitted in the United States has also been confirmed.
