• Researchers find evidence of at least 15 early burials at Burying Hill in Bourne (capeandislands.org) — Archaeologists have confirmed at least 15 likely Wampanoag burial sites at Burying Hill in Bourne, backing the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe’s long-held beliefs and influencing nearby development plans. Funded by the town and tribe, the non-invasive radar study may guide future protection of sacred land, though no additional research is currently scheduled.

• Beverly Ann Perry, 77, artist and knitter (plymouthindependent.org) — Bourne residents should know that services for longtime Plymouth resident Beverly Ann Perry will conclude with a May 20 burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. The 77-year-old artist, knitter, and former legal assistant is remembered by her close-knit family and friends for her creativity and community spirit.
