Bourne Fire Department Centennial Committee to Host Centennial Celebration
BOURNE, MA – July 12, 2025 – The Bourne Fire Department Centennial Committee is proud to announce its Centennial Celebration Program, commemorating 100 years of dedicated service to the community. Members of the public are invited to join local dignitaries, current and retired firefighters, and community members for this special event on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Buzzards Bay Park. Rain Date July 13, 2025.
The celebration will honor a century of commitment to public safety and reflect on the evolution of fire and EMS services in Bourne. The program will begin at 1:00 PM
A significant portion of the program will be dedicated to honoring the service and dedication of fire and EMS personnel, including a solemn Line of Duty Death (LODD) Recognition to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Dignitaries expected to be in attendance include the State Fire Marshal, State Police Colonel, U.S. Representative Bill Keating, State Senator, State Representatives, District Attorney, Fire Chief, Bourne Police , Bourne Select Board. Vendors and owners of antique fire apparatus will be on display.
Attendees will have the opportunity to look back at 100 years of history with a presentation by Retired Bourne Fire Chief Steven Philbrick, who will reflect on the department's century of service and its journey of growth and adaptation. The program will also feature Citation and Proclamation Presentations, including one from U.S. Representative Bill Keating.
Following the main program, guests are encouraged to enjoy the display of antique fire apparatus and visit with vendors. Refreshments will be served.

"We are incredibly proud of our history and deeply grateful for the support of our community. We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone with everyone."
