Edward Stone, 25, was in court after the July 31 indictment that alleged that he robbed two TD banks in Braintree and one in Hingham during a three-week period in June.

“The charging statute provides a sentence of no greater than 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, a fine of $250,000, and restitution in the approximate amount of $18,000. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors,” according to United States Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz’s office.
