Barnes & Noble, Braintree: "My Favorite Teacher" now accepting entries

Barnes & Noble annual essay contest for middle and high school students, provides opportunity to acknowledge influential teachers.

Barnes & Noble’s annual essay writing contest for middle and high school students, now accepting submissions through March 1st, 2017.

To enter, students submit an essay, poem or thank-you letter relating how a teacher, past or present, has influenced their lives.

Essays will be judged on the student’s sincerity and quality of expression and writing.

The winning teacher and the student author will be honored at a special awards ceremony to be held at Barnes & Noble, Braintree, in March 2017.

The winning teachers will be recognized at a special event at their local Barnes & Noble store and will receive a special award acknowledging their achievement as well as additional recognition and praise from their community. The five regional winning teachers will each receive a $500 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. The winner of the "Barnes & Noble Teacher of the Year" award will receive $5,000 and will be recognized at a special event at a Barnes & Noble store. The winning teacher's school will receive $5,000 as well.

The Student who authors the winning essay, poem, or thank-you letter for the teacher that wins the “Barnes & Noble National Teacher of the Year” will also receive a $500 Barnes & Noble gift certificate and NOOK device.

Completed essays can be dropped off at the store or e-mailed to crm1989@bn.com.

Deadline for submissions is 3/1/2017.
