Bites Nearby: Jamie’s Grille & Pub
This family-friendly restaurant offers a wide range of dining choices.

With three locations on the South Shore, Jamie’s Grille & Pub offers a wide variety of options for both lunch and dinner as well as breakfast on the weekends. Additionally, daily lunch and dinner specials guarantee that there will always be an item that feeds your fancy. The family-friendly restaurant features a rather large bar area that is separated from the dining room, so you can go to Jamie’s for more casual dining in the bar or head into the dining room for a quieter experience.
Jamie’s offers an extensive menu and on the night we visited was also doing a pretty good takeout business. The menu features decidedly American fare including Chicken Pot Pie, Meatloaf, and Yankee Pot Roast as well as pasta options such as Chicken Broccoli and Ziti, and both Chicken and Veal Parmesan, all of which can be ordered in either a full or half order size.
If you’re in the mood for meat and potatoes, there are a number of Steak offerings including: Steak tips ($13.99), an 8 oz. or 12 oz. New York Sirloin ($12.99 and $16.99), and a London Broil Au Jus for ($11.99). Burgers are in abundance as well as fresh seafood including scrod, salmon, and scallops served to your liking. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and pizza round out the menu offerings.

On a recent visit, the boys and I had a mixed experience. I started with the French Onion soup ($3.99) and it was excellent. It had a nice, rich broth with a hearty abundance of onions, and was oozing with melted Swiss cheese atop the croutons. My older son enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan Panini ($7.99). The grilled Focaccia bread had a nice little crunch and there was just the right amount of chicken, cheese, and sauce. My younger son got his usual BBQ Burger ($8.99). It was loaded with sautéed onions, lettuce, and tomato, and topped with cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce.
I wish I could rave about my dinner but it was a little disappointing. I originally wanted to try the Seafood Fra Diavolo listed on the specials menu but changed my mind when the waitress confirmed that the spicy in the description was spicy in reality. So I went with the Chicken Pomodoro instead. I wasn’t too happy with it, though, as it appeared to be served with the same spicy sauce as the Fra Diavolo.
