The Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus has endorsed Meredith Boericke in the race for Braintree Town Council District 5.

BRAINTREE, MA — Meredith Boericke picked up an endorsement in her bid for Town Council from a group that works to get more women into politics. The Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus (MWPC), which describes itself as non-partisan, announced its endorsing Boericke for the District 5 seat, that's up for grab's in Braintree's town election this November.
"No measure of a community’s progress can be made without a truly representative elected body, MWPC president Pam Berman said in a statement. "We believe decisions about our communities should include women’s voices. We need leaders like Meredith Boericke, who will be a strong decision maker and advocate on the Braintree Town Council."
Currently, there's only one woman holding one of the Braintree Town Council's nine seats, At-Large Councilor Shannon Hume. Other women that have announced plans to run for council seats include Donna Connors for District 3 and Julia Flaherty, who's running for the District 1 seat.
